Terms of service

The rules for using this website, asking us for a quote and getting texts from us.

Who we are

This website is run by EV Charge San Diego (“we”, “us”), a C-10 licensed electrical contractor (California license #1097506), 2244 Faraday Ave #139, Carlsbad, CA 92008. You can check our license with the Contractors State License Board. Questions about these terms go to sales@evchargesandiego.com or (619) 202-8501.

By using this site or sending us a quote request, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your details.

Quotes and estimates

Quotes are free, and there is no obligation to go ahead. We price the job from the photos, videos and details you send us. Your estimate is a fixed price that covers the permit, materials, installation and inspection for the work it describes.

That price depends on what you showed us being accurate. If we find something on site that the photos did not show, such as a panel that needs replacing, hidden damage, or work the building department or SDG&E requires, we will explain it and price it before doing any extra work. Nothing is added to your price without your written approval. Replacing an electrical panel is always priced separately.

Permit fees, material costs and utility requirements change over time. If a while has passed since we sent your estimate, we may need to confirm the price before we schedule the work.

Your job

The work, price and payment terms for your job are set out in a written agreement before we start. That agreement, including any deposit and any right you have to cancel, governs the job. If anything on this page conflicts with it, the agreement wins.

All work is done by our own in-house team; we never subcontract it. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and meet the inspector. Inspection dates are set by the city or county building department, and some jobs need SDG&E coordination, so those parts of the timeline are not fully in our control. We will keep you posted.

On the day, please make sure we can reach the work area and your electrical panel, and tell us beforehand about anything that affects the job, such as gate codes, pets, or HOA rules. If you need to move your appointment, let us know as soon as you can by text, email or phone.

Equipment

If you have already bought a charger, we will install it. The charger and any other equipment are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty, not ours, and we are not responsible for faults in equipment we did not supply.

Payment

When the work is complete, we send your final invoice by email or text, whichever you chose. Card payments are made through Square’s secure payment page; we never receive or store your card details. Please do not send card details by email, by text or through our website forms.

Warranty

Our labor is covered by a two-year warranty. If something we installed fails because of our workmanship during that time, we will come back and fix it at no charge. The warranty does not cover the charger or other equipment (see Equipment), or work that someone else has changed or repaired. Your written agreement sets out the warranty in full.

Text messages (SMS terms)

These terms cover the text messages EV Charge San Diego sends about your quote request and your job.

How you agree to receive texts

We text you only if you ask us to. On the last step of our quote form, you choose whether your estimate is sent by email or by text message. If you choose text, you enter your mobile number and tick a box agreeing to receive texts from us. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can pick email instead and get exactly the same price.

What we send

Texts about the job you asked us to quote, and nothing else:

  • your estimate;
  • questions we need answered to price or plan the job;
  • scheduling, appointment confirmations and schedule updates, including permit and inspection dates;
  • your final invoice, with a link to pay it securely through Square.

We do not send marketing or promotional texts. Message frequency varies with your job. Message and data rates may apply.

Stopping texts and getting help

Reply STOP to any message (CANCEL, END, QUIT and UNSUBSCRIBE also work) and we stop texting that number. You will receive one final text confirming that you have been opted out. Opting out of texts does not cancel your quote; we will reply by email or phone instead. To receive texts again, reply START or UNSTOP.

Reply HELP for help, or contact us at sales@evchargesandiego.com or (619) 202-8501. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your mobile number

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. See the text messages section of our privacy policy for how we handle your number.

Using this website

The guides, typical prices and rebate information on this site are general information. They may not fit your home and can go out of date; incentives in particular change often, so check the current details with SDG&E or the program itself. Your estimate is the price for your job.

Nothing on this site is an instruction to do electrical work yourself. A 240-volt charger circuit needs a permit and should be installed by a licensed electrician.

When you send us a quote request, please give accurate details, and only upload photos and videos you are entitled to share. Do not use our forms to send spam or anything unlawful, and do not try to interfere with how the site works.

The text, photos and logos on this site belong to us. Please do not copy them for commercial use without our permission. Links to other websites, such as equipment makers, SDG&E or Square, are there for convenience; we are not responsible for those sites.

Our responsibility

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but it is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by relying on the general information on this site or by the site being unavailable. This does not limit our responsibility for the work we do for you, which is governed by your written agreement and California law, or any rights you have that the law does not allow us to limit.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by California law. If something goes wrong, please contact us first; most problems can be put right quickly. Any dispute that cannot be resolved goes to the courts of San Diego County, and nothing here stops you from using small claims court or contacting the Contractors State License Board.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version on this page applies from the date at the top. Changes do not alter a written agreement you have already signed with us.
